This photograph is in our A.P. U.S. History textbook and shows Roosevelt in Panama examining the progress of the canal.TR was the first president to travel outside of the country as president.
This letter describes the presidents actions and feelings for the Panamanian Rebellion against Columbia, on the Isthmus. This relates directly to my topic and shows the strategy planned by TR to easily maintain a piece of land that was going to hold his greatest achievement as president, the Panama Canal.
